HURRICANE SEASON

September Newsletter

Its September in Florida.  Hurricane season.  There is a series of storms lining up in the Atlantic.  Hurricane Florence has already made landfall.

Last year at this time I was sweating it out without power for 10 days after Hurricane Irma.  It could have been worse.  We could have been hit like Puerto Rico, a community that was almost wiped out by that raging tempest.

I encourage everyone to donate to charities in Puerto Rico.  The island is still recovering from Irma.  I particularly like Chef Jose Andres and his charity; World Central Kitchen.  A year ago, while things were still at their most uncertain they took the initiative, went down to Puerto Rico and started feeding people.  They wanted to help, so they helped.  They leveraged their resources, time, brainpower, and sweat to make a difference.  While government officials struggled to coordinate relief efforts in the midst of politics and red tape, these chefs made it happen with ingenuity, perseverance, and compassion.   They cared.  They acted.  What an amazing example of community, brother and sister-hood, and patriotism.

If you are interested, they just published a book about this epic story “We Fed an Island: The True Story of Rebuilding Puerto Rico, One Meal at a Time”

An automobile accident can hit you like a natural disaster.   We can help you navigate the aftermath.

The law cannot turn back time and make the accident go away, so the only way to recover for what has happened to you is to receive money from the at fault party (and their insurance company).

If you suffer a permanent injury in a car accident you are entitled to receive compensation for economic damages (medical bills and property damages), pain and suffering, metal anguish, scarring and disfigurement, and loss of enjoyment of life.

Here at BLUCAS LAW, we take the initiative from day one and leverage our resources, time, brainpower, and sweat to build a strong case and maximize your recovery.

STORM PREPARATION WARNING!!!

BUY GOOD INSURANCE.  Just because you are a good driver, does not mean everyone is.  Florida law allows people to drive without Bodily Injury Insurance Coverage, meaning if one of these drivers hit you, you are out of luck.  This is why it is ESSENTIAL to buy Uninsured Motorist Coverage to protect yourself from a rainy day.
